What cookies and browser storage are
A cookie is a small piece of data a website stores on your device. It usually holds an identifier, some data that serves the cookie's purpose, and an expiry date. Local storage and session storage do the same job without being sent to the website with every request. Storage set by the site you are visiting is first-party; storage set by other companies is third-party and can be used to follow you across sites. This site uses no third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
The four categories
- Necessary: always on. Your consent record and security checks. The site cannot work as described without them.
- Preferences: on unless you untick it. Small settings that remember your theme and whether you have seen the subscribe box.
- Analytics: off unless you tick it. PostHog stores a random ID so return visits are recognized and recordings can be made. If you leave it off, visits and clicks are still counted without any cookie, stored ID or kept IP address; see the Privacy Policy.
- Advertising: not in use. If that ever changes, the policy version changes and the consent box asks you again.

The names marked with … carry our PostHog project key in the middle. Our forms may also use Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a person, not a bot, is sending them; it runs only on the form and sets no advertising cookies.
How to change your choice
The consent box appears on your first visit and again whenever this policy or our Terms change. To change your answers at any other time, clear this site's data in your browser settings; the box comes back on your next page. You can also block or delete cookies and storage in your browser; the site still works, though your theme and choices will not be remembered.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy when the cookies and storage we use change, or for legal or operational reasons. The date at the top of this page shows the current version.
